Transportation Supply Chain Workshop

MTI convened a workshop on "Surface Transportation Supply Chain Security," bringing together subject matter experts from federal and state government and the private sector, and academic researchers. The goal of the conference was to understand the current state of the practice in surface transportation supply chain security, and to consider areas of needed research to address new and developing challenges. Areas of focus included risk estimation, geopolitical aspects, and modal relations. In preparation for the workshop a bibliography of existing academic literature was created to estimate what work has already been done in surface transportation supply chain security.  A bibliography of adversary literature was developed to highlight the challenges faced by security managers. The research report growing out of the workshop will include a blueprint for future research to provide guidance for future projects in this aspect of supply chain management.
