Mobility shapes the opportunities we can reach and how we interact within our environment and community. Better mobility results in greater access to opportunities, including jobs, education, housing, and health care, all essential elements for a higher quality of life. With women comprising more than half of Metro’s existing riders, and more than half the population in Los Angeles County, a key component of achieving the agency’s vision is to understand the mobility barriers women (in particular), are currently faced with. In this panel discussion the foundation for bridging the gender equity gap for current and future female riders is addressed.
