Transportation Security Specialist

Sachi Yagyu joined MTI in 2021 to support operation of the MTI Database on Terrorist and Serious Criminal Attacks Against Public Surface Transportation. In this role, Sachi continues her previous work in providing research assistance for terrorism experts.

Sachi is also a consulting Research Librarian for the USC Southern California Evidence Review Center. For this position she focuses on an area of expertise - project literature reviews, primarily in health and social sciences subject areas. Sachi is trained to conduct systematic reviews, scoping reviews, and rapid evidence reviews.

Prior to her current positions, Sachi served as a Research Librarian and Library Research Services Team Lead for the Santa Monica RAND office for over a decade. She contributed to research efforts in defense, health, and social sciences subject areas. In addition to project work, she trained staff on effective search techniques, served as liaison to the Pardee RAND Graduate School, and supervised RAND’s Document Delivery Services.  Along with her colleagues, she selected both electronic and print resources for the Knowledge Services collection.

Sachi was awarded a Master of Library Science from UCLA and a Bachelor of Individualized Studies from the University of Minnesota.
