Development of A Conceptual Critical Success Factors Model on Infrastructure Sustainability Rating System for California Construction Projects

The objective of this research project is to develop a conceptual critical success factors model on infrastructure sustainability rating system for California projects. The accurate and early adaption of the sustainability rating system helps transportation agencies and project owners achieve successful implementation of sustainability goals for infrastructure projects. In achieving the research objective, the research team will develop a theoretical concept model based on point-by-point credit data collected from the certified infrastructure projects that considers the social, economic, and environmental aspects of California infrastructure projects as well as the sustainability goals identified from the sustainability managers at the state transportation agencies. The outcome of the model will help address the sensitivity and reliability of the credit weights among five bottom lines such as site, water and wastewater, energy, material, and environmental aspects. This project is unique in that it will build relationship models that describe the connection types between sustainability categories and goals for the state transportation agencies to use for their future infrastructure construction projects.
