Automated Vehicles Symposium

The Mineta Transportation Institute will co-sponsor a workshop at the Automated Vehicles Symposium in Ann Arbor, Michigan from July 20-24 at the Ann Arbor Marriott. This is a multi-disciplinary forum to advance the deployment of driverless vehicles, such as the Google car. The day-long workshop on July 24, “Envisioning Automated Vehicles within the Built Environment: 2020, 2035, and 2050,” will include design discussions for transportation professionals. Mobility regulators, technologists, innovators, architects, planners, engineers, and environmental professionals are expected to participate. MTI research associate Caroline Rodier, PhD, will discuss the potential land use and travel effects of automated vehicles. Much of the agenda is focused on design workshops for the built environment.
