High-Speed Rail Conference

Council of University Transportation Centers Meeting and Banquet

This annual event honors CUTC students of the year, as well as those who have won awards for their research papers. MTI’s Student of the Year will receive a certificate and a $1000 cash award.

Transportation Research Board 95th Annual Meeting

Researchers and staff from the Mineta Transportation Institute will present at this annual conference at the Washington Convention Center. More than 5,000 presentations in nearly 750 sessions and workshops will be featured. This year’s theme is Research Convergence for a Multi-Modal Future.

16th Annual Garrett Morgan Sustainable Transportation Competition

Teams of middle-school students from across the country develop their ideas for achieving sustainable transportation and present them at the annual Garrett Morgan Competition. This live, streaming teleconference features an address by the US Secretary of Transportation, the director of the California Department of Transportation, and other industry leaders. 2016 CUTC Summer Meeting

As a leading member of the Council of University Transportation Centers, MTI will participate in the organization’s summer meeting at the METRANS Transportation Center. The meeting will include strategy sessions, workshops, committee discussions, and other business relevant to the members’ transportation research activities. MTI Executive Director Karen Philbrick serves on the Executive Board.

International Conference on Transport & Health

June 13-15, 2016 • San Jose CA

The Mineta Transportation Institute will be hosting this second annual conference that will address the convergence of transportation and health. The conference promotes the concept of cross-disciplinary teams of professionals in the design, planning, and development of proposed and rehabilitated transportation infrastructure projects. Abstracts are accepted from October 31, 2015 through January 17, 2016.

MTI Awards Banquet and Convocation Exercises

Graduates of MTI´s Master of Science in Transportation Management will receive their hoods at a banquet attended by families and friends as well as national and international transportation leaders. An award will be given to the winning team in the 2016 Garrett Morgan Sustainable Transportation Competition, and the 2016 MSTM Alumna/us of the Year will be named.
