MTI will co-sponsor this annual conference, which is organized by The Rail Transportation Division of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Discussion topics will include various technologies to advance the future of rail transport. Keynote speakers include Transportation Secretary (ret.) Norman Mineta, MTI Emeritus Executive Director Rod Diridon, California High-Speed Rail CEO Jeff Morales, Valley Transportation Authority CEO Nuria Fernandez, and more.

Teams of middle-school students from across the country develop their own ideas for achieving sustainable transportation and presenting them at the annual Garrett Morgan Competition. This live, streaming teleconference features an address by the US Secretary of Transportation, the director of the California Department of Transportation, and other industry leaders. Winning teams earn cash prizes for their classrooms.

This annual event moves back to San Jose, Calif. More than 125 experts in surface transportation and transit are expected to participate. They will discuss the future of podcars, also known as “personal rapid transit” or “automated guideway vehicles.” MTI will co-sponsor.
