National Transportation Finance Center

MTI’s National Transportation Finance Center (NTFC) funds research in cutting-edge transportation finance practices, disseminates research and information on finance policy, and convenes events to assist policymakers with translating research to policy.

NTFC emphasizes research into “smart” finance options – revenue and finance tools that not only raise needed transportation revenues but also promote social goals such as environmentally sustainable transportation systems, congestion management, and social equity.

Deputy Executive Director

Hilary Nixon has served as Deputy Executive Director for MTI since 2018. Previously, she served as MTI’s Director of Research and Technology Transfer. Dr. Nixon is an active researcher and educator specializing in transportation and environmental planning and policy.
