Request for Research Proposals

Fiscal Year 2011-12

The Mineta Transportation Institute seeks proposals for seed grants and for research projects.

MTI is pleased to announce the posting of the 2011-2012 Request for Proposals (RFP). MTI conducts an open, broad-based process for soliciting and selecting policy research projects. High-quality proposals that best match the results of the needs assessment and the objectives and research emphasis areas of the institute will be selected for funding. All proposals are due on MONDAY, MAY 16, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. PDT.

MTI supports research projects staffed entirely by San José State University (SJSU) faculty or by SJSU faculty collaborating with researchers from outside the university.  Research projects may be 100% funded by MTI, or institute funds may be combined with funds from other sources, which must be identified in the proposal.

MTI requires that all research team members be certified Research Associates (RA) or Consulting Associates (CA) prior to their involvement in any project. Certification requires a completed application with references, a résumé, and a sample of published research. Individuals who are not currently certified as either an RA or a CA may apply for that status concurrently with submitting a research proposal by submitting a Research Associate Application.
