Request for Research Proposals – Fiscal Year 2009-10

The Mineta Transportation Institute seeks RFPs for seed grants and for research projects.

San José State University Faculty Seed Grant RFP
This grant program encourages San José State University faculty involvement in the Mineta Transportation Institute research program. Grants up to $5,000 may be given, subject to available funding. There is no deadline, but projects should be related to a future grant cycle. The following file explains the program and includes the application form. (This is limited to SJSU faculty only.)
1  MTI Seed Grant RFP and Application Form

Request for Proposals
MTI is releasing two Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for the Spring 2009 round. Transportation finance topics have been separated from all other topics in the 2009 Request for Finance Proposals. MTI is issuing the separate 2009 Request for Transportation Finance Proposals to focus attention on this research emphasis area. The newly created MTI National Transportation Finance Center, under the directorship of Dr. Asha Weinstein Agrawal, has been created by the institute to serve as the home for research, information, and other activities on this critical issue.

2  Finance Request for Proposal

For all other topics use the 2009 Request for Research Proposals.

2  Research Request for Proposal

Proposals responding to either of the two RFPs should use the 2009 Proposal Submittal Form and the 2009 Proposal Budget Form. Do not use forms from prior years.

3  Proposal Submittal Form 5  Proposal Budget Form

All proposals are due on MONDAY, MAY 25, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. PDT.

The proposal and budget submittal forms should be saved on your hard drive and completed. Follow all directions in the RFP documents and on the submission forms. All these documents differ from the materials used in past RFP cycles. Please read carefully.

A sample of a successful proposal is also shown below. The contents are specific to that particular proposal and respond to an earlier version of the submission form, but the document does illustrate the level of detail, the academic nature of the content, and the clear focus that MTI expects in a proposal.
