How to Apply for the Master of Science and Certificate Programs
MSTM Application Process
To apply for the Masters´ of Science in Transportation Management (MSTM) program, you must first apply for admission to San Jose State University (SJSU). Graduate Studies and Research accepts applications for formal admission to SJSU through CSU Mentor. You must take the GMAT for admission into the MSTM program.
To apply for the MSTM program through SJSU:
- Complete the California State University Application for Graduate Admission, which you can find at www.csumentor.edu/.
- Pay the $55 application fee at the same link.
- Obtain two official transcripts from each educational institution that you attended after high school. Transcripts must be submitted in sealed institution envelopes to be considered official. If the envelope is opened, the transcripts are no longer usable. Have the transcripts sent directly to:

Note: Transcripts are accepted for 30 days after the application is submitted. For specific registration deadlines, please refer to Graduate Studies and Research FAQs. Click on “Ask an Expert”.
- Arrange to take the GMAT. For information about testing sites, test dates, cost, and other information go to www.gmat.org. Score reports specific to the MSTM have a new GMAT program code, which is TGQ-ML-83.
- The GMAT exam is not required for the CTM.
- GMAT exams should be completed with a target score of 500 or above within 30 to 45 days after submitting your application to SJSU.

CTM and the CTSM Application Process
To apply for the CTM or the CTS program:
- Complete the application
- Make a check payable to Transportation Education Programs for the $35 application fee, and send it to:
