How to Apply for the Master of Science and Certificate Programs

MSTM Application Process

To apply for the Master of Science in Transportation Management (MSTM) program, prospective students must first apply for admission to San Jose State University (SJSU). through CSU Mentor.

To apply for the MSTM program through SJSU:

  • Complete the California State University Application for Graduate Admission.
  • Pay the $55 application fee at the same link.
  • Obtain two official transcripts from each educational institution that you attended after high school. Transcripts must be submitted in sealed institution envelopes to be considered official. If the envelope is opened, the transcripts are no longer acceptable. Have the transcripts sent directly to:

  • Arrange to take the GMAT. Please note that score reports specific to the MSTM have a new GMAT program code: TGQ-ML-83. More information about the GMAT.
  • The GMAT exam is a specific requirement of the Education department for the Mineta Transportation Institute. It is not required for the Graduate Certificate Programs. 
  • GMAT exams should be completed with a target score of 500 or above within 30 to 45 days after submitting your application to SJSU.

CTM/CTSM or the CHSRM Application Process

To apply for the CTM/CTSM or the CHSRM program:

  • Complete the PDF application form for special-session off-campus students.
  • There is a $35 application fee. Please make your check payable to Transportation Education Programs.
  • Place the application and check in an envelope marked "Confidential".
