Master of Science program
Candidates for the Master of Science in Transportation Management (MSTM) program must meet the following requirements:
- An undergraduate degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
- Formal admission to San Jose State University. Admission requires a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5.
- Admission to the MSTM Program. Acceptance is evaluated on an individual basis, with an expectation that admitted students have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 and GMAT or GRE scores at the 50th percentile in both the verbal and quantitative sections of the exam. If you are not sure you meet the qualifications, please contact the Education Director.
Admission to the Graduate Certificate programs, Certificate in Transportation (CTM), Graduate Certificate in Transportation Security (CTSM) or the Graduate Certificate in High Speed Rail Management (CHSRM) requires an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution (any major). The GMAT is not required but a GPA of 2.5 is required for admission to any of the graduate certificate programs.
TOEFL requirement (all programs)
All graduate applicants, regardless of citizenship, whose preparatory education was principally in a language other than English, must demonstrate competence in English. Those who do not possess a bachelors or masters degree from a post-secondary institution where English is the principal language of instruction must receive a minimum score of 550 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
