Tuition, Financial Aid, Fellowships

Tuition is $750 per course. Financial Assistance is available in the form of Fellowships offered by the Mineta Transportation Institute. Depending on the agency, students may speak to their training coordinators to inquire about reimbursement. Financial Aid is available through the Financial Aid Office for San Jose State University. MTI Fellowships

Financial assistance from MTI can make the MSTM or the Certificate very affordable. If paired with tuition support from your agency, MTI fellowships can make program costs very affordable. 

Eligibility 

Students applying for the Certificate fellowship must be enrolled in the CTM program at San José State University, be registered for the current class, and must have been registered in the previous session. Accordingly, applicants applying for the MSTM fellowship must be enrolled in the MSTM program at SJSU, must be registered for the current class, and must have been registered in the previous session. 

Both awards are based on scholastic achievement, leadership, instructor and faculty recommendations, and a short essay of 250-500 words. While financial need and GPA are factors, preference is given to students who attend classes continuously and intend to complete the program at the accelerated pace.

Deadlines

Applications for the Certificate fellowship must be postmarked by the second week of class in the Fall B and Spring B Sessions. 

Applications for the MSTM fellowship must be postmarked by April 1 for spring and November 1 for fall semesters.
