The Summer STEM & Skills Dual Credit introduces Navajo Nation high school students to transportation careers and critical skills through hands-on learning experiences at Navajo Technical University (NTU). The program gives students opportunities to acquire practical skills in a variety of fields including construction, culinary arts, engineering, welding, and more while they earn college credit and get a head start on their education. The five-week program culminates in the Diné Maker Faire, an event where participants showcase the projects they have developed over the course of the summer. The program has been a great success since it began in 2018 and continues to evolve to adapt to the needs of diverse students in the 21st century.
