Infrastructure Academy Transportation Program

To meet the changing needs of the transportation industry work force, this project develops and implements programs that would utilize the educational skills of Cal State L.A. in developing transportation-related skills for high school students specifically minorities, women, and disadvantaged individuals. The program will recruit 40 high school students and five teachers (using a train the trainer model) to be trained in transportation-related fields. The program includes and is not limited to workshops/lecture series in transportation and infrastructure field, internships and apprenticeship program at public and private transportation agencies, field trips to transportation authorities, and presentations by transportation professionals, transportation careers guidance counseling for each participant, team building, and leadership skill workshops.
