Enhancement of Multimodal Traffic Safety in High Quality Transit Areas

High Quality Transit Areas (HQTAs) are defined as areas within one-half mile of a fixed guideway transit stop or a bus transit corridor where buses pick up passengers at a frequency of every 15 minutes or less during peak commuting hours (Southern California Association of Governments, or SCAG, 2016). This project aims to enhance the multimodal traffic safety conditions in the HQTAs, which is imperative for successive implementation of complete streets design and integrated land use and transportation planning policies.
