Alternative Fuels Data Center (U.S. Dept. of Energy) - The Alternative Fuels Data Center (AFDC) collects operating information from vehicles running on alternative fuels, analyzes the data, and makes it available to the public. The AFDC site contains information about alternative transportation vehicles, refueling sites, alternative fuels, biofuels, and clean cities. Also included at the site are alternative fuels web site statistics and information about the National Alternative Fuels Hotline.

Energy Directory - Alternative Fuel and Advanced Vehicles - This comprehensive directory, from the California Energy Commission, includes links to a variety of alternative fuels resources: government agencies, private companies, organizations and associations, newsletters, and research programs.

Resource Guide: Infrastructure for Alternative Fuel Vehicles - This on-line guide, prepared by the California Energy Commission, includes legislative/regulatory requirements; vehicle characteristics and incentives; and information about electric, ethanol/methanol-powered, liquefied petroleum gas, and natural gas-powered vehicles.

Yahoo! - Alternative Fuel Vehicles - This section of Yahoo! includes links to a number of sites concerned with electric vehicles, solar vehicles, and alternative fuels.

Automated People Movers
Innovative Transportation Technologies - Innovative Transportation Technologies focuses on "unconventional" transportation technologies, particularly automated people movers. This site includes information, pictures, and contact information for operational, conceptual, and historical technologies.
Bicycle Commuting
Bicycle-Friendly Berkeley Coalition - The Bicycle-Friendly Berkeley Coalition is concerned with making Berkeley, California a more bicycle-friendly city by helping to make bicycling safe, convenient and pleasant. This site includes organization goals, events, a form for reporting bike hazards, and a bicycle route map.

Bikestation - Bikestation is a commuter bike station in downtown Long Beach, California with valet parking, bicycle repairs and tune-ups, retail merchandise, changing area, etc. This site includes information about the project and the station, and press releases.

International Bicycle Fund - The International Bicycle Fund promoted sustainable transport and international understanding through its urban planning, economic development, safety education, and educational travel programs. This site includes information about interest areas, publications, grants, publications, bicycle organization contacts, events and conferences, tours, and bicycle technology news.

San Francisco Bicycle Coalition - The Bicycle Coalition aims to promote the use of the bicycle for everyday transportation. This site includes information about projects and accomplishments, a newsletter, and links.

TransCycle - Cycling for the Future - This site is devoted to cycling and transport issues, particularly those in the U.K. This site includes information about car-free housing development, cycle-friendly infrastructure, transport issues in the U.K., air quality, and more.

VeloNet - The Global Cycling Network - VeloNet is an "electronic information desk for cyclists." It includes information and links to more than 400 worldwide cycling organizations, including mailing lists and sites organized by geographic location.

Congestion Pricing
Congestion Pricing WWW Resource - This Web site, sponsored by the Hubert Humphrey Institute for Public Affairs State and Local Policy Program, explains the theory and practice behind congestion pricing. The site includes background information about congestion pricing, updates for existing projects, media reports, and journal articles.
Electric Vehicles
Bay Area Action - Electric Vehicle Project - The aim of Bay Area Action's Electric Vehicle Project is to make available information about the conversion of cars to electric vehicles. This site contains information about the project, technical information, news items, Web links, and events.

Cerritos College Advanced Transportation Technologies Program - This site includes course information, the electric vehicle program alternative fuel directory, and California Community Colleges Economic Development Network.

Electric Auto Association - The Electric Auto Association acts as a source of information to the public on the developments in electric automobile technology. This site includes links to EAA sites, a directory of EAA chapters, newsletter selections, and the EAA catalog.

Electric Motorcycle-Technology of the Hybrid Electric Motorcycle - Theory of Operation, Data Sheet, and Modular Electronics.

Hybrid Electric Vehicle Program - The Hybrid Electric Vehicle Program works with Industry to develop vehicles with high fuel economy and low emissions, with a goal of making hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) commonplace on American highways by the year 2003. This site contains information about programs, including those with General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler.

Mobility and Electric Vehicles (Real Goods) - This site includes information about emissions, hypercars, electric vehicles, SuperRail, and a system approach to transportation.

National Station Car Association - The National Station Car Association is a technical non-profit corporation that guides the development, testing, and commercialization of the electric station car. This site contains information about station cars - electric vehicles driven to and from mass transit stations by transit riders - as well as descriptions of the station car demonstrations in the San Francisco Bay Area, South Florida, and Atlanta.

Rhode Island Electric Vehicle Rental Project. - The goal of this project is to expand the existing EV rental business in the Northeast and throughout the U.S.

Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
ITS America - The Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) is a forum for industry, government, and academia to develop and apply Intelligent Transportation Systems. The ITS America site contains information about intelligent transportation systems, meeting notices, a calendar of events, ITS-related Web sites, and national ITS system and architecture information. ITS America members also have access to newsletters, abstracts, and a membership directory.

ITS Online - This site contains a wealth of information including transportation news, a reader forum, a calendar of events, and featured articles on people, perspectives, and politics.

TravInfo - ITS Field Operational Test approved by the Federal Highway Administration - develops, operates and evaluates an Advanced Traveler Information System for all modes of surface transportation in the Bay Area. This site includes project news, information, a calendar of meetings, and an FTP archive.

Personal Rapid Transit
Personal Rapid Transit Site - Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) is an alternative mode of transportation which offers a potential solution to urban traffic congestion and improved travel accessibility. This site includes the history of PRT, current developments in PRT, advocacy group contacts, and a reference desk.
Intelligent Vehicle Highway Systems
Texas A&M IVHS Research Center - The Texas A&M IVHS Research Center is one of three national centers designated by the Federal Highway Administration to do extensive research in Intelligent Vehicle Highway Systems (IVHS) to improve national mobility. This site contains information about the center's activities.

Toronto Railway Club - This site is designed for Toronto Railway Club members and the railway community. The site includes information, statistics and links. Content is updated often.
Scenic Byways/Highways
Scenic Byways Online - Scenic Byways Online provides travelers with detailed information about scenic byways throughout the United States. This site includes scenic byway information by state, a searchable topic library, and technical assistance.

School Bus Fleet Online Magazine -  School Bus Fleet online magazine provides information for transportation managers. The site includes news, resources and statistics, hotlinks, an event calendar, and much more.

The Subway Page - This site contains links to a large number of subway-related Internet resources. Included are links to subway maps, books, bibliographies, museums, transit guides, and other resources.
TGV
TGV Pages - This site contains information and resources regarding the TGV (Train a Grande Vitesse), the French high speed train. The site includes TGV background information, a system map, speed records, future research, and TGV-related resources.
Trams
Trammit - This site is a clearinghouse for information about trams, streetcars, trolley, and light rail people movers. The site includes background information about trams, a list of cities with trams, and topical information (e.g., tram builders, the war and trams).

American Public Transit Association - The American Public Transit Association (APTA), the international association of mass transit interests, seeks to promote the use of public transportation and ensure the vitality of the transit industry. This site contains information about upcoming conferences, a "Washington Watch" (legislative reports, regulatory issues, etc.), Passenger Transport (transit news), publications ordering information, statistics, and a transit calendar.

Transit Center - The Transit Center is designed to serve the needs of the public transit professional. This site contains a business center (equipment, services, products), a calendar (trade shows, events, training), library resources, and classifieds (employment, services, equipment).

Transport Web - Transport Web is maintained by Transport Systems Consultants to provide a forum for commercial and research organizations to to describe their activities.
