Work Background:
Dr. Lewis wrote "Managing Urban Growth in San Francisco Bay
Region" integrating discussion of land use, transportation, and
transportation pricing reform. He published nine issues of
"Neighborhood Systems" and is the author of the "Good
Growth" proposal to use regional gas tax for several purposes
including social justice and sustainable growth. He serves as an alternate
on the Alameda County Congestion Management Agency and is active in CATS
of Hayward to fight the Foothill freeway. He has written a long critique
of this freeway and conventional computer modeling, as well as proposed
new techniques of analysis. Note: Dr. Lewis is also an elected member of
the Board of Directors of BART.
