Dr. Scales is currently a transportation engineer involved in technical, economic and performance evaluation of high-speed rail, locomotive and railcar systems and components. He is also concerned in writing specifications for the procurement of rail systems and components. Some of his major projects include the Honolulu Rapid Transit Project, Houston System Connector Technology Assessment, and Las Colinas , Miami, Denver, Honolulu and Newark, APT People Mover Systems and High Speed Trains for the North-East Corridor.
