Work Background:
Dr. Park's recent research interests relevant to the surface
transportation policy studies are Total Quality Management (TQM) and
implementation of automatic identification (AutoID) technology, such as
bar coding. In the TQM area, he has done some research on application of
TQM to higher education and quality training programs. He has studied on
implementation of the AutoID technology in manufacturing systems, which
has been widely used in transit systems.
Dr. Park has over sixteen publications, and has given over twelve
presentations at professional conferences.
His current research focuses on facility design and production control
problems, such as scheduling of jobs on parallel machines, applications of
neural network to manufacturing systems, and FMS design and scheduling,
among others.
