Work Background:
Dr. Kwan has done research and consulting work in Management Information
Systems, particularly in the area of Database Management Systems. Some of
his projects include: 1) cost/benefits analysis of the application of a
fingerprint identification database system for Santa Clara County; 2)
design and implementation of a database system to support the management
of airborne missions and equipment for the U.S. Army; 3) design and
implementation of a database system to support the management of
parachutes using barcodes for the U.S. Army; 4) evaluation of portable
computing equipment for the San Jose Police Department; 5) analysis of
tradeoffs between data accuracy and performance of databases.
