MTI Library Collection

The Mineta Transportation Institute Library Collection, which is housed at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Library at San Jose State University, supports the administrative, academic, and research functions of the Institute.

MTI specializes in surface transportation systems policy and management. Its library collection includes materials related to national and international surface transportation policy studies, transportation management, and transportation management education. The library provides access to information for research, education, and technology transfer regarding surface transportation issues and policies.

In addition to the collection items identified in the catalog, the Institute purchases numerous periodicals for the library. The collection can be searched by using Mineta Transportation Institute as the key word on the King Library search engine.

Many materials are available, including monographs, periodicals, reports, serials, handbooks, dictionaries, directories, encyclopedias, bibliographies, case studies, audio-visual materials, dissertations, theses, technical reports, pamphlets, prints, professional level materials, programmed materials, unpublished reports, working papers, Institute publications, electronic resources such as electronically mounted files and bibliographies, in-house and/or on-line databases, and access to resources available through the Internet.
The collection does not include artifacts, books below college level, clippings, globes, laboratory manuals, language manuals, manuscripts, study guides or newspapers.

The library is a valuable resource for MTI faculty, research associates, students, and other authorized people and agencies. Research associates working on projects and students have borrowing privileges. Other people may use the library materials on site.
