What is required to enroll in the MSTM program?
MSTM candidates must apply for formal admission to San Jose State University (SJSU) and have an undergraduate degree in any major from an accredited institution. Admission to SJSU requires that the candidate has a calculated grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 from their last 60 units of study. Admission into the MSTM program requires a target GPA of 3.0 and a target Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) score of 500, based on scores from both verbal and analytical sections of the GMAT exam. However, admission is possible without meeting both targets, and entry into the MSTM program is evaluated individually. Candidates who fail to meet either target may be admitted by special action at the discretion of the University. Contact Viviann Ferea (ferea@mti.sjsu.edu or 408-924-7570) if you are not sure that you can meet these qualifications. back to top

The application deadline for matriculation in Spring is usually early in the Fall semester of the prior year. Check with the Graduate Studies web site (www.sjsu.edu/gape) for deadline details. Note that the document deadlines for the GMAT and official transcripts are approximately 30 days beyond the application deadline. Applications for the Certificate Program are accepted throughout the academic year. back to top
What are the course registration deadlines?
While course registration is accepted all year, students are strongly advised not to wait until the last minute. If a course does not attract sufficient enrollment ten days before it is scheduled to begin, it will be canceled. Students registering late may be shut out, which can interrupt their program sequence or graduation target date. It´s especially disappointing if the late registrations would have made it possible to hold the class. So please do not wait! back to top
How do I register for a class?
Registration forms must be submitted online through our web site. Upon receipt, the Education Program Assistant (EPA) processes the forms within the education department and then submits them to Admission & Records (A&R). Course codes should be available at the time of registration, you may request them from the EPA. Course registration should be completed no later than one week before the start of class. back to top
If you are a new student, you will receive an email from Admission & Records giving you a student ID number. Continuing students should have this information already. Passwords may be obtained from cmshelp@sjsu.edu. You may make electronic payments using your ID number through Open University´s Paypath or through MySJSU. Students may make electronic payments using a credit card or a check. Cash is accepted only in person at the Bursar´s office on campus. back to top
